Elizabeth LeCompte & Casey Spooner

  • This is a past program
Director Elizabeth LeCompte is a founding member of the New York experimental theater ensemble The Wooster Group. A pioneer of incorporating the influence of media into her productions, LeCompte has been awarded an NEA Distinguished Artists Fellowship for Lifetime Achievement in American Theater and a MacArthur Fellowship. Her latest work is a new production of Hamlet, which premieres in Los Angeles at the REDCAT Theater and features Casey Spooner as Laertes. Spooner formed the electro-pop-performance troupe Fischerspooner with classically trained musician Warren Fischer in 1998. Currently recording songs for what will be their third full-length album, Fischerspooner’s members are also preparing a book chronicling their early years.
