The Art of Surfboard Shaping

  • to This is a past program

Legendary surfboard shaper Scott Anderson has been making custom surfboards at his Venice shop for over twenty years and has helped advance the evolution of surfboard design. Anderson will discuss the physical properties of different models, design experiments and failures, and the process of tailoring a custom board to the individual.

In conjunction with the exhibition Outside the Box: Edition Jacob Samuel, 1988–2010.

Public programs are made possible, in part, by a major gift from Ann and Jerry Moss.

Additional support is provided by Bronya and Andrew Galef, Good Works Foundation and Laura Donnelley, an anonymous donor, the Hammer Programs Committee, and Susan and Leonard Nimoy.
