Program Series

400 Years of Inequality

These programs are presented in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the arrival of African captives in what would become the United States of America. The year 1619 marks the beginning of bonded labor, black resistance, and the origin of America's deep racial divides that continue in the 21st century. It was a defining moment in U.S. history that must be recognized and understood if our nation is to ever realize its founding ideals of freedom and equality.
