Paul Cézanne: A Harmony Parallel with Nature, with John Walsh

In this three-part lecture series, art historian and curator John Walsh discusses the career of the influential painter Paul Cézanne (1839–1906). Walsh examines Cézanne’s processes of selecting, arranging, abbreviating, and exaggerating his subjects using distinctive techniques in oil and watercolor. Beginning among the Parisian Impressionists and continuing through a profoundly solitary later life, Cézanne’s work eventually became a powerful influence on succeeding generations and continues to influence artists today.
